This Saturday 12th Bryansburn Rangers FC make a bit of Club history by playing at the 4th Round stage of the Irish Cup for the first time. They have a tough draw against NI Intermediate League outfit Oxford United Stars who played in the IFA Championship last season having played at that level for several years.
However Bryansburn will be buoyed by the fact that they have already defeated two NI Intermediate sides in the competition. In Round 1 they defeated NFC Kesh 3-2 after extra time and in Round 3 Dungiven were beaten 3-1 at Ballywooley. Inbetween ‘Burn had a remarkable 4-3 victory at Amateur League side Rosario YC having been 3-0 down with fifteen minutes left.
Kick-off at Ballywooley on Saturday is at 1.30pm and all support will be most welcome. Admission is free. At stake for both sides is a place in the 5th Round draw, which is the stage that all the Irish Premier League sides, including Glentoran and Linfield, enter the competition. However before dreaming of a glamour tie ’Burn must focus on getting a result on Saturday.
